Who do you want to see play at Summerfest?

Summerfest has begun announcing headliners for the 2010 festival, which means it must not be too early to start thinking about the Big Gig.

Thinking about Summerfest, in fact, made me wonder: if people could offer some suggestions for who they'd like to see grace the many stages of the World's Largest Music Festival, maybe they would be less inclined to gripe about the line-up.

So, I want you to tell me who you'd like to see come to Summerfest.

Yes, I'm asking you to post a Talkback below and offer up your realistic suggestions -- a reunited Beatles just ain't possible and it seems unlikely that a band like U2, which plays stadiums, is currently appropriate for the available venues on the Henry Maier Festival Grounds.

I will then take these suggestions to John Boler, Bob Babisch and Scott Ziel -- some of the folks that book Summerfest -- and get their thoughts on them.

Then, in January, I'll run their comments on OnMilwaukee.com.

Of course, I can't guarantee that any of the suggested bands or artists will play at Summerfest in 2010 or any other year. But it'll be a good way to make your suggestions to Summerfest and to hear what they think of them.
